We manufacturer all our products, by hand, in-house and in the UK, except for our superb range of ready made wood and aluminium frames, which we source direct from Nielsen – one of the world’s largest names for frames and mouldings. This allows us to have complete control over the sourcing, manufacturing and construction of our canvases, Image Blocs and poster prints. The difference is quality. Canvas – Your photo to canvas and our range of Gallery canvas art.

We use industry leading Epson wide format printers and genuine pigment based 8 colour UltraChrome inks, for superb detail, vivid colour, tonality and light fastness. UltraChrome inks have an increased lightfast ness and durability of over 75 years if displayed in the right environment. Allowing you to get many years’ pleasure and enjoyment from your images and artwork that will remain vibrant and bright.

UltraChrome inks are pigment based, inkjet printing, sometimes referred to as Giclée (The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray"^. It was coined by Jack Duggane, a printmaker working in the field, to represent any inkjet-based digital print used as fine art.) This method of printing produces the best canvas art printing available today.

An additional benefit of the 8 colour UltraChrome inks is its three different blacks (K3). Black, light black and light light black; allow stunning reproduction of shadow detail, depth and tonality in black & white printing. Ink jet, giclée, printing can now rival traditional ‘wet’, silver halide, dark room printing.

Our canvas is an ultra white, heavyweight 415gsm cotton weave matte canvas giving amazing colour reproduction, print detail and vibrancy. Woven in India and coated in the USA, we have yet to find a superior canvas on the market – at any price.

Beautiful print is only part of the equation. Our frames are another intrinsic reason for choosing a canvas from Perfect Picture Company. Sourced from Europe and made from the best winter cut laminated pine. Our traditional stretcher frames are precision machined and finger-jointed; meaning that longer stretcher bars are made from several lengths of wood that are spliced together. This results in exceptionally straight lengths that resist warping and sit flat against the wall. Our stretcher bar lengths are machined with a precise curved lip that angles away from the print when stretched, so no unsightly frame imprint shows through the finished canvas and there is no edge cracking.

Our bigger canvas sizes also come crossed and braced, for even more strength and stability – an example of our pursuit for excellence and attention to detail. We are that confident about our stretcher frame construction that we offer a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defect.

An important part of using traditional stretcher frames is the inclusion of wedges. Our wedges are made from the same high quality pine that our stretcher frames lengths use and are an essential part of any canvas. Not only do wedges help the stretch of the canvas, giving it additional tension, with no sagging, they can be used to re-tension the print if necessary. Because canvas is a natural, breathing product; changes in humidity and environment may cause the canvas to loosen over the years. This is normal for a natural product such as canvas. The wedges allow you to tap them with a light hammer to re-stretch the canvas.



 

Image Bloc

Image Blocs are a contemporary way of displaying your images and artwork. Constructed from a solid wood frame that is 50mm deep, the image is printed on heavyweight 275gsm photographic self-adhesive media using our Epson UltraChrome 8 colour inks. This is then over laminated with 125 micron crystal clear laminate and secured to a 5mm thick foam core board. The image board is then recessed into the wood box frame, giving a nice inset shadow depth to your artwork. Image Bloc has the appearance of a solid, deep box frame when hanging on your wall.

The solid wood mouldings are sourced from a supplier who adheres to FSC standards and renewable sources. The frame moulding is precision mitered and glued together. Additional ‘V’ wedges are used front and back for extreme strength and durability and each Image Bloc is supplied with an innovative hanging bracket – ready to hang on your wall.



 

Printed Posters

Using the same 8 Colour UltraChrome inks and Epson printers as our canvas printing and Image Blocs, we can produce stunning photo enlargements at poster print size from your photographs. Using professional Adobe Photoshop interpolation / enlargement or Genuine Fractals software, we can enlarge your photos to huge sizes, with no loss of quality.

Printed on a heavyweight 285gsm Gloss photo paper for beautiful, vivid colours and superb detail.

Readymade frames with wood & aluminium mouldings

Our large range of ready made frames come direct from Nielsen – superior mouldings, glass windows and aperture mounts from one of the world’s leading brands in picture framing. Available in a wide variety of finishes and sizes – A4, A3, A2 up to a large 70-100cm in wood and aluminum. All our frames come with glass, not plastic and we offer a range of aperture mounts, picture hooks and hanging accessories to complete the range.
